This Peach Crisp produces a chewy, caramelly bottom, layered with a decadent juicy center full of peaches and topped with a wonderfully crunchy streusel on the top.

I wait all year long for fresh Colorado Peaches and then go hog wild, but this year is an exception. No Colorado Peaches in my neck of the woods. WHAT? Panic began to set in and then I found the rainbow and sitting at the base were California Peaches. A little skeptical at first, but I didn't have a choice. California Peaches or nothing. I guess I will do California Peaches.

OMG.........

This marinade is great with meats you want to grill, like Pork Chops, sliced Pork Loin, Chicken and even Skirt Steak. Easy to make and made with ingredients you should already have in your pantry.

The char on the Pork Chop is from the honey in the marinade; it causes the meat to caramelize into amazing!

It all started with a Cosmo and moved onto a Wonderfully Refreshing Pomtini

This post all began with a pic of a Cosmo I made for myself this past Saturday night.  I posted on Facebook and made a comment.  I quote, "Summer night and too hot to set on the deck. Plan B, taste testing a new recipe for Cosmos. I am feeling this recipe is quite festive!"

Well, who would have guessed? We ended up with 30 Likes and several peeps seeking out my recipe. How much fun is this? ......

Fresh Veggie Saute Delivered in a Pita Pocket

frenchgingerbread.com is now mobile-friendly ... yeah, me!

This is one of my all time go to veggie mixes and one of my favorite sandwiches, especially for Summertime. This is a simple recipe and can be made with whatever your garden is producing at the moment. I am sorry to say the veggies I used in my Fresh Garden Veggie Saute are not from my garden. My poor little garden got flooded out this Spring and what survived is being devoured by a barrage of insects. I am so glad Texas has two growing seasons. We are going to give it a go once again for a fall garden.

Hey, All! Yep, I haven'.........

Homemade Pasta

A GREAT BIG THANK YOU to Hailey, Tab, Holly, and Donna, my hostess. Pasta Class was a blast!!!

My culinary career began while I was attending Le Cordon Bleu and working at a Professional Culinary Center simultaneously. My first assignment was assisting a Master Chef teaching gourmet cooking classes to the public, eventually I graduated to teaching classes on my own. I loved every minute teaching people how to cook, expanding their culinary imaginations and offering techniques that would make for a festive kitchen.

I still love teaching others to cook and offer classes casually when the opportunity presents itself and it did so this month when my neighbor, Donna, approached me to teach her how to make .........

Healthy Broccoli and Raisin Salad with just a little naughty bacon is the type of salad in which a second helping will not be enough.

What a week this has been, not only around here, but all over the states. For me, It began with two tornados on the ground and a 4.0 earthquake around Fort Worth, all at the same time. Then torrential rains, flooding, an 8-foot snake in my own backyard, more rain, more tornadoes and more flooding. Yep, you read that right, an 8-foot snake .........

Strawberry Shortcake

frenchgingerbread.com is now mobile-friendly ... yeah, me!

Who can get through Spring without making or eating Strawberry Shortcake? I for one cannot. My favorite desserts seem always to include some kind of Spring berry. It's just my thing.

Preferably, I look for organic berries which are abundantly available in their natural growing season Spring. Their natural growing season produces peak nutrition and priced accordingly with supply and demand. So, in the Spring, look for organic, it's better for .........

Fresh Basil Pesto with Garlic and Toasted Pine Nuts

What do you do with Fresh Homemade Basil Pesto? You toss it with pasta, spread it on bruschetta, spoon it over a tomato and mozzarella salad, drizzle it over deviled eggs, use it as a dipping sauce for grilled chicken, or just eat it by the spoonful. Heck, the possibilities are endless, and the benefits are outstanding.

Did you know fresh basil is loaded with Vitamin K and Magnesium? For more about basil and how wonderful it is for you and your body, make up some Basil Pesto and pump up those muscles. It's a good thing.

                        Creme Brulee

Creme Brulee is deemed one of the top "guy" desserts of all time! Make one and see if he won't follow you anywhere. I dare you!

If you are one of those people who love Creme Brulee, you are one of those people who LOVE Creme Brulee! My son, Dylan, is one of the LOVE Creme Brulee Groupies. Actually, he is in the category of LOVE LOVE LOVE Creme Brulee and President of the club. Around any holiday, I normally ask him what he would like me to fix for dessert, he inevitably will choose Cheesecake or Creme Brulee.

Yes, you can make it at home, and it's not at all hard with the ......
